In 1998, Geraldine took over the reins from her father and trained over 80 winners, including home-bred winners Proud Boast (winner of the 2002 UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation Rous Stakes at Newmarket) and Punjabi, who went on to win the 2009 Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy at Cheltenham for Nicky Henderson.

There was also success on the breeding-front, with Captain Wilson winning the 2009 Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association John G Charlton British Breeders’ Award and being crowned 2nd Leading National Hunt Breeder for the 2008-2009 Season. The table below lists the broodmares currently owned by GSR Thoroughbreds, as well as the names of some of their winning progeny.

GSR Thoroughbreds is based at Moor Farm in Lancashire. The facilities include:

    • Stabling for 20 horses, including both standard loose boxes and larger foaling boxes
    • 5 furlong oval gallop, set on an incline to allow greater improvements in fitness
    • All-weather lunge ring, allows horses to be exercised throughout the year
    • 54 acres of grazing, fenced with post and rail and electric tape
    • 6 horse horsewalker, ideal for warming up and cooling down horses before and after exercise and particularly useful for building up exercise for pre-training and recovery from injury
    • Starting stalls, used in the pre-training of young/inexperienced flat racehorses
